More About Us...
The African American Twins Group was founded and organized by identical twin, Mary Ann Tidwell Broussard, 2004. October, 2004, the first Annual African American Twins Group held a Conference at the Black Repertory Theatre, 3201 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA. At the time of registration twins from 9 states and over 15 cities had registered. California, Missouri, Chicago, and several local cities. Antioch, Pittsburg, Oakland, Richmond, Berkeley, Sacramento, and Hayward.
Our mission is to support and educate parents, families and friends, to guide them from birth to adult, focusing on identity crisis regarding twins. Our goal is to provide resources from experts and professionals in the field of multiple births, stressing the importance of individuality and limitations. The group will gather information, discuss and share ideas twins through member participation. Our goal at AATG is to unify, support, individualize, and teach the importance of Health Care during and after pregnancy. Stories and updates are shared in the Twinzine (News Magazine for Twins, and the paperback book, "I'm Not My Twin" to be published late 2009.
